University Assistant (PhD position) – Power Electronics

Job Description

Your responsibilities include independent research and teaching activities in the field of power electronics, as well as administrative tasks within the unit.

Your Profile

  • Completed Master’s, Magister or Diploma degree in a relevant field
  • Research expertise in advanced power converter topologies, power semiconductors, energy storage devices, and converter control
  • Strong analytical skills and methodological competence
  • Experience with simulation and design tools (Plexim, PSIM, FEM tools, Altium Designer, MATLAB)
  • Practical experience in development, troubleshooting, and testing of power converters (required)
  • Experience in design and analysis of medium- and high-frequency magnetics (inductors, transformers) is desirable
  • Written reflection on your dissertation project (max. 5 pages) to be included in the application
  • Teamwork ability, problem-solving competence, and communication skills

Salary

The minimum gross salary for 20 hours/week is € 1.857 per month (14x per year). After signing the dissertation agreement, the salary increases to € 2.785 for 30 hours/week. Previous relevant experience may result in a higher salary.
